Where a measurement falls
Enter a length, and a girth if you like, to see where it falls against the pooled clinician-measured datasets for the same way of measuring. It is worked out in this page, on your device: nothing you type is stored, logged or sent.
The calculator needs JavaScript, which is off or blocked in this browser. The notes below still apply.
No pooled girth data exist for stretched measurements, so girth is not used.
Result
Choose the measurement and the convention, and enter a length.
Beyond the data. At least one dataset puts this more than three standard deviations from the mean, where it stops describing anything real, so the share at least as large in both is not given.
Dataset by dataset
A normal curve fitted to each dataset's own mean and standard deviation, not observed data.
Enter a length above to see it on these charts.

Sorted by length
Every row, shortest to longest. Length is the published length; thickness is the real diameter (circumference ÷ π) on the same scale.
Sorted by girth
The same rows, thinnest to thickest. Each value leads with girth and gives the row's place in the length order, so the reordering is easy to follow.
Normalised to bone-pressed
Only penis measurements whose convention is known. Rows measured without the bone press are moved to their bone-pressed equivalent: the study's own bone-pressed figure where it published one, otherwise the pooled gap (0.74″ erect, 0.67″ stretched, 0.22″ flaccid). A dashed tick marks the length as published. Rows that pool both conventions are drawn in outline at their published length, because they cannot be converted. Rows whose convention was never stated are left out.

Every study
One line for every dataset in calcSD's public list that publishes both a mean and a standard deviation, plus studies the site has added from the literature, marked, in four panels by measurement and convention, each sorted by mean. The dot is the study's mean. The whisker runs 2 standard deviations either side: it is a normal curve fitted to each study's own mean and SD, not observed data. Whiskers are cut off at the edges of the 3 to 9 inch axis.

Before reading much into it
Whether the ruler was pressed to the bone, whether the penis was stretched or erect, and whether a clinician or the man himself held the ruler explain more of the disagreement between figures than anatomy does.
Length and girth are only weakly correlated in real men, and girth varies less than length in absolute terms.
Each dataset is read as a normal curve. The tails behave; it is the means and the conventions that differ.
How the calculator works is on the methods page.
Many pooled figures and the every-study view draw on calcSD, a community-maintained compilation of published measurement studies, and on its public dataset API.
